Toyofuji Shipping Implementation of BAF Announcement- Jan 2020.
IMO Regulations to limit Sulphur Oxide Emissions from 2020.
TFS in accordance with IMO regulations from January 2020 will comply with the policy to limit sulphur fuel oil used on board all TFS vessels. Emmisions will be required to be reduce to 0.50% M/M (mass by mass). This will reduce the amount of sulphur oxides eminating from TFS vessels and will provide environmental benefits for those living near ports. Unfortunaltey the cost of switching to low sulphur fuels will have a significant financial impact on shipping lines. Thus in an effort to sustain cost effective sevices accross all trade routes, TFS will introduce an additoinal BAF (Bunker Adjustment Factor) charge. Please see announcements on below links for further detail of BAF charges.
